Welcome to The Gospel Resources Hub second unit. This 12-week Sunday School curriculum follows the journey of Abraham, the father of faith. View Lesson 12How to Teach the Life of Abraham
This 12-week unit is designed to deepen Biblical Literacy by walking children through the life of the first patriarch. We recommend an oral-focused storytelling approach that helps children encounter the text as a living narrative.
- Emphasize the Jesus Connection: Every lesson in this unit points forward to the Messiah. Use the provided connection sections to show how Abraham's life is a shadow of the Gospel.
- Use the Curious Question: Don't skip the hook! Use the "Curious Question" at the start of each lesson to move students from passive listening to active wondering about God's character.
- Focus on Covenant: Help children understand that God is a Promise-Keeper. Whether he is dealing with Abraham's mistakes or Hagar's loneliness, God never breaks His word.
- Kinesthetic Learning: Engage multiple senses by using the suggested hand motions for every memory verse to help children hide God's word in their hearts.
