Daniel 1
King Nebuchadnezzar takes young Israelites captive to Babylon. He tries to change their identity with new names and rich food. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah bravely choose to obey God's law by eating only vegetables and water. After ten days they look healthier than everyone else.

Daniel 2
King Nebuchadnezzar has a dream he cannot remember. He demands his wise men tell him the dream and its meaning, or they die. Daniel prays to God, who reveals the dream to him. Daniel tells the king about a statue of gold, silver, bronze, iron, and clay, and a stone that smashes it, representing God's eternal kingdom. The king praises God.
